Main Game Settings:

Game Type: Death Match Capture The Flag Warfare Vehicle Capture The Flag Team Death Match Duel
Select the game type you want your server to run. Read your game manual for every game description.

Map Name:
Make sure the map name contains the game indicator. For example DM-HeatRay or CTF-Strident. I did not include a drop down list because I am aiming at inclusion of custom maps as well... so use the list below to select the map you want, or type in the custom map name for your server.

Include Server Mutators
Select this check box only if you want to include any of these mutators in your game. Remember that including server mutators will take your server out of the Pure List even if you select your server to be Pure.

• Number of Players - The number of players that will be present on the server. One person will start the match, the rest will be filled by bots.
• Max Players - The number of players your server will handle before it reports that it is full. This overrides any ini settings inside the game.
• Public Connections Allowed - Number of players that will be able to get into the game without a password. Generally the SAME VALUE as Max Players.
• Private Connections Allowed - Number of players that will be able to get into the game using the game password.
• Minimum Net Players - Minimum of HUMAN players before the game starts
• Round Time Limit - The time limit for a round. WHen the clock reaches 0, the round is over.
• Flag Caps / Goal Score - The score that determines when a match is over. Take into consideration the game type. A CTF game with 20 caps is too long. A DM with 5 kills is too short
• Bot Difficulty - Set the bot difficulty on the game.

Add a Server Description:
If you have selected to add a Server Description to your command line, Convert your server description to UT3 line description here. Bring back the numeric result (UT3 code) and paste it on the following text box.


This is a UTF-16 string decoded from ASCII (regular) characters...
Unreal 3 Beta DEMO and Unreal 3 Retail Version (first release) require this to show your FULL server description.
The rest, including BETA patch 1.01 and above, can change the Server Description on the server's UTGame.ini or use this line as regular text. Look under [Engine.GameReplicationInfo] and edit the ServerName= to whatever you want. Please note that if you edit the ini, this server description line needs to be removed from the command line.

Game Options:

• Allow Invitations - Allows a player to send an invitation to someone on their buddy list to join your server
• Generate Game Stats - Will record game stats for your server.
• Advertise Server - The server will be advertised on the game's Server Menu.
• Lan Match - Indicates whether this is a Local Area Network Match or not. Selecting NO indicates the server is on a Wide Area Network, available to internet users.
• Dedicated Server - Indicates whether the server is dedicated or not.
• Force Respawn - Forces a player to respawn immediately after being fragged. Selecting NO will make it so the player has to click "Fire" to respawn.
• Pure Server - Indicates if this server is a default "vanilla" server of if it's tainted with mutators. Adding a mutator, even the ones included with the game, will remove your server from the Pure servers list.
• Allow Join Game In Progress - Allows new players to join the current game without having to wait for a new round to start.
• Player Must Be Ready - Check this box to add the "Player Must be Ready" bit. COmbine with number of playes to start a match.
• Tournament - Check this box to make your server a Tournament Server.

Server Connectivity and Authentication:

Add the Administrator's Name: Password:
In-Game password used to run administration commands. If you do not plan to use in-game administration, do not select it. Use the following commands for in-game administration:

• AdminLogin <password> - Logs you in as an admin
• AdminLogout <password> - Logs you out of admin mode
• AdminRestartMap - Restarts the current map
• AdminChangeMap <MapName> - Loads a different map (gametype will change too, depending on map)
• Admin addbots <#> - Adds number of bots
• Admin killbots - Removes all bots
• AdminPlayerList - Shows PlayerID of players
• Adminkick <playername> - Kicks player from current game
• Adminkickban <playername> - Kicks player from current game and bans player from reconnecting (bans are stored in .ini file for later editing)
• AdminForceVoiceMute <playername> - Blocks a player from sending voip to others
• AdminForceVoiceUnMute <playername> - Allows a player to resume sending voip to others
• AdminForceTextMute <playername> - Blocks a player from sending text to others
• AdminForceTextUnMute <playername> - Allows a player to resume sending text to others
• AdminPublishMapList - Overrides the server's map list for the current game type with the one on the client that used the command

Add a Server's Game Password :
If you want to make your game private, click on the checkbox and assign a password here to lock it down from the public.

Add GameSpy Server Login Name: GameSpy Server Password:
You will have to create this information from inside the game on your local PC if you don't have it. This will create a GameSpy game account.

Add a Server Log. Assign a Name:
This line will add a server log with all the server errors. Change this default name to another name for your server log, if desired. Remember to end the name with .log for the log to be properly created.

Add a Subdirectory. Subdirectory link:
For Server Administrators that run multiple servers off one dedicated box. Specify the address you have the subdirectory in. If you don't know what this is or don't need this, DO NOT USE IT.

Multihome IP: . . .
Change Your Game Port: (default game port is 7777)
If this is a DEDICATED SERVER on a box with MULTIPLE UT3 SERVERS running, check the box and add your IP here. If not, DO NOT CHECK THE BOXES and LEAVE IP BOX BLANK!
If you run MULTIPLE SERVERS using a SINGLE IP, then check the boxes and add the corresponding info.

No Home Directory option
Will use ini files located in your <UT root folder>\UTGame\config folder rather than looking into the My Games folder under Documents and Settings (XP) or Documents (VISTA) folders.
If the files do not exist in that folder, it will create new ini files based on the existing base ini files located in that SAME folder.
For example, BaseUTGame.ini will create UTGame.ihi if it does not exist.
DON'T CHECK IF YOU DON'T NEED IT.

Unattended option
Check only if this is a dedicated server. LEAVE ALONE OTHERWISE.
